It is said that some men are born under an evil sign. That carry this mark with them throughout their lives. The lucky ones never know the dark side of the world. But when a man born under one of these signs encounters true evil he is changed forever. In a small section of New York City known as Greenwich Village one such man lives. He has experienced the evil of men and the horrors of the great war. He has stared into the face of black magic and known the touch of demons. He is Professor Hannibal Strange, Master of the Occult. So begins the first story of Professor Strange. Standard publishing began printing Tales of Professor Strange in 1931 as a bi-monthly periodical. He was a good seller for the company and even had a vocal fan following. Though never as breakthrough a character as Adam Zero the character still has a very rabid cult appeal.
